You can now contact the Shine helpline online via a chat window on Shine’s website. By clicking on the yellow ‘Click here to chat with us’ button in the right-hand bottom corner of this website, you can chat live to a Shine helpline team member 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Please note that the Shine Chat will appear in your browsing history as
‘Shine helpline.homecaremedical.co.nz’, so you may want to browse incognito or delete your browsing history afterwards. Find out how to do this here. And learn more about safe use of technology here.
You will be put through to the same experienced team that run the Shine helpline providing family violence advice and support 24 hours, 7 days a week.
If you are ever in immediate danger, call 111 and ask for the police. If it is not safe to speak, push 55 on a mobile (any number on a landline) to be put through to Police. Listen carefully to the instructions. Once connected with Police, the Police call taker will ask simple yes or no questions and you will be asked to push keys on your phone in response to these questions.
