Payroll Giving

The New Zealand Government has introduced Payroll Giving so that staff can donate to their favourite charity direct from their pay packet, and receive an instant tax credit. For every dollar donated, a third is returned to the employee who donated in the same pay period.

I want to donate to Shine through my payroll

You can set up a regular donation to Shine from your salary. All you need to do is give the following details to your employer:

  • Organisation name: Safer Homes in New Zealand Everyday Incorporated
  • The amount you wish to donate
  • How often you want to donate; and
  • Our bank account details: 12-3039-0853012-00

If you are an iPayroll® customer, you can set up a payroll donation to Shine by clicking on the button below:

I want to select Shine as the chosen charity for my organisation

You can offer your staff the opportunity to donate to Shine as part of a Payroll Giving scheme. If you work for an organisation, you can ask your HR Department or manager to start one up. You may want to set up a payroll giving committee and make Shine one of the organisations that your workplace supports as a business. Shine’s legal name as a registered charity is Safer Homes in New Zealand Everyday Incorporated.

Payroll Giving is already a proven success overseas. In the US, 95 per cent of workers have access to Payroll Giving and more than a third choose to give each month.
