If you are at work, domestic violence isn't just a domestic problem
Victims of domestic violence are also workers, managers, executives and bosses. Domestic violence affects their ability to work and costs their business. It probably affects your workplace.
If one of your colleagues is experiencing abuse at home, you may notice a number of signs, including:
- Lateness and absenteeism
- Errors, lack of concentration and creativity
- Exhaustion, tension and distraction
- Reliance on colleagues to cover
- Physical injuries
If a colleague reveals that they are a victim of domestic violence, there are a number of practical things you can do to help:
- Check for safety
- If in immediate danger, call Police on 111
- Call us on 0508 744 633
- Tell your colleague that they are entitled to be safe
- Offer to screen calls
