The Shine* Training Team provides specialist training tailored for a wide range of professionals and community groups. Training is provided throughout the country. Our workshops and programmes help people to understand domestic violence and learn when and how to respond. Our trainers all have experience working with family violence victims and/or offenders. Training resources are developed from recent research and best practice models from around the world.
Training Programmes available in your communities:
Community Workshops Family, friends and other community members often fail to notice the signs of family violence and miss opportunities to intervene on behalf of victims. Shine* provides workshops for community organisations such as churches, Citizens Advice Bureaux and Community Centres to help them develop an understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence.
Professional Training We offer specialised training for professionals who have contact with either victims or offenders of family violence. The training team teaches appropriate and safe ways to intervene, including how to refer to specialist agencies across your region. We have provided training for groups such as Police, Probation Officers, Work and Income, health professionals, Community Alcohol and Drug workers and many others.
