Help for people who use abuse and violence
Domestic violence is unacceptable. We can offer help to change the behaviours of people who use abuse and violence within their family.
Overwhelmingly, domestic violence is men's violence against women and children. It is worth noting, however, that most men don't hurt their loved ones. Men can play a strong role in modelling non-violent behaviour by talking with, challenging, supporting and educating their brothers, fathers and sons, so that the new generation of men are trustworthy family members.
Understanding the dynamics of domestic violence is key to making safe changes, because how we think about violence shapes our response to it.
